My son really enjoys these flash cards. We were surprised at the seemingly incredible jump in complexity between the Kindergarten flash cards and these 1st grade flash cards--there are questions on these cards that I don't even know the answers to, and lots of complex sentence structure questions. No pictures at all, and they require the child to be able to read to answer many of the questions. I can highly recommend the Kindergarten ones--but these seem more difficult than 1st grade work.

Using these as a supplement for homeschool for my held back due to age Kindergartner. He loves it. There are some occasional questions that I personally think are strange or out of place, but overall they are good age and grade appropriate questions, which as a homeschool helps me backfill some things and shows me where he could use some additional teaching. He asks to do these first before any of his other schoolwork, so I would say success.

We were first introduced to Brain Quest when I daughter turned 4 and we really like the brand. We picked up the 1st grade version of these cards this year because my daughter start 1st grade. These flash cards are great fun and educational, it is a great way to turn learning into a game. These are not huge so they are easy to take with you. We take them anytime we know there could be a wait, because they keep my daughter entertained and it is much better than giving her a phone to play with. I am sure that we will continue to get the next versions of these as my daughter masters the questions.

So, I never wanted to be a flash card mom.....But my kids saw these at the store and wouldn’t stop asking for them. I tried every trick in the book to redirect, nothing worked. They kept saying they wanted these. So I caved. I’m not sure if these will advance their education, but they do keep the kids engaged. Some of the questions can be culture dependent, but it’s not that big a deal. This is my third box, we started with the preK pack.

My daughter is 5 and in Kindergarten, and I bought the 1st grader version to challenge her. There are two decks included and each deck has two sets of questions and answers (once done with the first side, you can flip around and start from the back for another set of questions). She loves it, and she gets about 30% of the questions wrong, but we talk through it and I know I'll go through the deck again so she can retain the right answers.

We do 2 cards a night before bed and my kids love it. Some questions are really easy and some are more challenging. I will be buying the next level as soon as we finish this one. The kids really look forward to this as part of our bedtime routine.

As a retired first grade teacher, I relied on the Brain Quest questions to fill empty time spots during the day. The kids loved it. The questions range from fairly easy to harder ones that were a challenge. When my grandson went to kindergarten this year, I got him the K Brain Quest - it was too easy, so I gave him the 1st grade one. Perfect! I'm glad he doesn't know all of the answers because he doesn't lose interest.

I bought a set of first grade cards for my daughter who'd just finished kindergarten and the 4th grade set for my son. Much to my surprise, my younger child seemed to enjoy these more than my older one. She loved having my full attention with being asked questions and talking about their answers. She also really loved being able to show how much she knows as a kindy graduate! It really seemed to give her a sense of accomplishment to be able to answer so many of the questions. It was also handy for me, as a parent, heading into summer, to identify gaps in my child's knowledge. For instance, I now know that she needs work on coin identification, but generally really grasps mathematical concepts. These cards have proved to be an interesting common ground between my daughter and I as lovers of trivia.

A joy to read these as I remember the delight of the first Little House books from my childhood--50 years later and I am once again enthralled.

Great Books

wife loves these books.

Granddaughter is happy

My children love these books!!

I love reading stories dated back in the 1800's. I love Laura Ingalls Wilder and any books pertaining to her life. It is interesting reading how hard times where for her and then reading how she raised her daughter Rose. I hope every young girl reads all the Little House books and then continue on with the other series.

Love the continuing story of Laura and family.

Daughter love this book

While I think Anna Huber has the potential to do some good writing--and the IDEA of the Lady Darby character is fresh and interesting, The Anatomist's Wife is a poor start. I found this book to be nap-inducing, which was fine, because I often need a nap -- but I was heavily disappointed in the frequent use of modern language (someone decides to "stick around," or the main character uses modern sarcasm to describe an awkward conversation: "that went well") in a book that was clearly intended to create a realistic 19th century ambiance. I was not necessarily looking for romance in this book, as I enjoy mysteries even more than the typical romance, but the love interest--if he can be called such--(Sebastian Gage) was incredibly flat and undeveloped. I also found the passage in which Sebastian gives Kiera a neck massage to be preposterous. She is a woman of refined upbringing and this kind of contact between a lady and a man she has known only three or four days .... well, it was absurd. The book never even came close to gripping me and, as I said above, I often nodded off to sleep over it. I am sorry to have been given such a poor introduction to a character who had a lot of potential.

A murder mystery in the Scottish highlands, an isolated castle full of aristocratic house guests, a protagonist shunned by society, a handsome investigator ... this book had everything I look for in a historical! And yet it didn't quite hit the target for me. I don't have a problem with stories told in the first person but Keira, the heroine, came across as sulky and self interested. Oh poor me, seemed to be her catch cry accompanied by copious repeats of her back story. Because the story is told in her voice alone, it was also hard to get a sense of Gage, the hero, and their attraction seemed forced. However I think what let it down was the editing. Too many modern North American anachronisms such as "No problem.". Character names switch but most jarring was a random reference to a racoon's blood being used to distract the dogs from the hunt. Racoon? In Scotland? That jerked me completely out of the story and I had to double check that I had in fact read the word correctly. I had and I even looked up racoons to check that there were no random colonies of racoons known in the highlands of Scotland in the 19th century. All of that said... this is a first book and there is always that element of set up for subsequent books in the series. The murder mystery is satisfying and I didn't guess the perpetrator so job well done on that score. The strength of the book is actually in the secondary characters, particularly Keira's fierce mother hen sister, Alana and her stoic and reliable husband, Phillip. They were a delight. And yes, I will come back for the second book. Three stars still means it was a good book... just not a great book.

Some reviewer praised this book as "riveting." I would say it's more like stepping on a rivet in my bare feet. The language is full of howling anachronisms and diction errors -- for example, in England, a person who's off his rocker is "mad," not "crazy." Logic error: since the heroine locked herself in her bedroom, how did her sister manage to be in her room to wake her up the next morning? These are little things but they add up to a big thing: the book just isn't well written or well edited. The romance is stilted and predictable. The climactic fight is implausible in a number of ways. I doubt that many English people of the era knew how to swim.I finished the book because I bought it. I won't read any more books in the series.

I've been hearing friends talk about loving this series for years, but I'd never picked it up because of my totally irrational aversion to the "The So-and-So's wife/daughter/sister" title formula. Well. The downside is that I missed out for a long time on a series I would love - but the upside is that there are now 6 books in the series, so I get to really dive in!I love Keira, the introverted, anxious, emotionally scarred artist heroine who's thrust into a murder investigation and finds a whole new skill in putting together logical puzzles. I looooove the relationship between Keira and her older sister, the push-and-pull dynamics of their loving but challenging relationship.(Keira was always introverted and shy, even before she became a social outcast due to the actions of her late husband; Alana was always extroverted, deeply protective of her little sister, and determined to ride into battle to defend her on any point. Now Keira's retreated to Alana's home for safety, but their different ways of handling things bring them into conflict, even/especially when Alana is determined to do what's best for Keira regardless of what Keira wants to do instead.)I also really enjoyed the larger family dynamics for Keira with her sister, her brother-in-law and their children. (Keira loves and is grateful to her very nice brother-in-law but is also VERY aware that she's living in his house on his good will and he could change his mind about that at any point.)I really liked the arc of the romantic relationship between Keira and the official investigator, Gage, and I also really liked where it ended. I often get annoyed in series mysteries when I feel that a romance is being dragged out too long (as in many TV shows, too!), but in this case, Keira was so scarred by her marriage that I wouldn't have believed in a happy romantic ending for her at this point, and there are a lot of real issues standing between them regardless - but I really enjoyed the arc that their relationship went through, and the note it ended on. I also liked the subtle ways the author brought out all the complications of established gender dynamics in 1830 without feeling in any way like the heroine was anachronistic in her own attitudes.I also had a couple of nitpicks - I thought the opening chapter felt a little awkward, and I wished that the whole book had had a British proofreader to check it through for Americanisms in various pieces of dialogue - but I loved the characters and the story so much that none of that made a real difference to me. I finished the last page and IMMEDIATELY bought the sequel - and I can't wait to binge-read my way through the whole series!

The Contract Marriage, uncontrollable physical attraction and the cherry on top ‘Love’.Looking for a break from the hectic day-to-day life with some scorching spicy romance to read, “ The Marriage Contract” it is!Blake, his mind and the conflicts he faces pull you right into the turmoil he faces. It’s easy to weep for Kari everytime she fights for what she wants to be hers. The sparks between Blake and Kari is sure to blow your mind away.

Contract marriage is one of the oldest romantic twists written since Victorian days. But every time I read one, I get a new twist. Ms. Van has not disappointed me at all. First of all, I loved the name Kari. had an unusual softness to it when said out loud. The way her character is portrayed is bold. Feminists out there will love it. Blake, on the other hand, is all naughty and mischievous and is a perfect partner for Kari. I like the 'Desi' vibes I got from this story being a Desi myself. Some of the dialogues and the mannerisms Ms. Van has given to the Indian community of relatives around Kari, is very relatable.

Having read (and loved) author's The Evil Twin, one can guess when you get author's new release in your hands, you just cant wait to start reading.Loved the way she weaves a story. its just un-put-downable... once you start reading you just cant stop in between, its so engrossing that you cant stop until you finish the story.Simple language, suggestive book cover but apt to title n story within. Lovely story line, well described characters with as usual an hint or background to Indians and their traditions/reference.Lovely read and must if you love romance with erotica.

I have so far read all PG Van stories and love them all. She keeps the reader interested in the story at all times. I love how she captures all aspects of relationships. Siblings, friends, parents, romance every thing. But I love mostly the fact that girls in her books are not just princesses waiting for Prince charming to save them, they are smart, able and independent woman.Keep them coming. Love reading them.

A new story by P.G.Van which is just as good as her last.I received an ARC of 'The Marriage Contract' and read it start to finish in day. That's how good it was.A full review is available on my blog alishasguide.wordpress.com

Plain old love story with steamy romance...No twists and turns..boring romance all the way. kari and Blake are not real life characters and that's evident in the heroic way the author portrays them.

Great story line, kept reader engaged. Strong female character, not afraid to go after what she wants and have fun in the process.

The Marriage Contract by PG Van is fabulous book to read . She has unique style of telling her stories .I LOVE ALL HER STORIES AND CHARACTERS .Each and Every Character has grey and white shades to their persona .Here in this story I love Karina Vora and Blake Krishna Kenndy's character because they have strong and independent thinking .Due to this physical passion flares up easily . Not only that they have huge ego about their capabilities with Karina parents trying to cox her in sighing a deed that will allow her to lead normal life .Hmm Blake Krishna Kennedy is charming dream prince which every girl would fall for . And Karina Vora is a fearless passionate and next door women who has soft and romantic heart .So Grab The Marriage Contract by PG Van romance lovers to enjoy some passion moments .

Just took, and passed, 70-743. This book was helpful because it provides links to where more information can be found. TechNet is the ultimate source for all certification test prep... But I digress. The content of the book is limited. However, some critical concepts are covered better than others. For example, I was hit hard on IPAM and this book does not go deep enough on this topic. On the other hand, I was also hit hard on Nano Server. I felt this book adequately covered that topic. (But I still needed TechNet as well.)The reference book is just that; a guide on the topics covered in the exam and where more information can be found. However, I would love it if Microsoft published certification material and then produced certification exams based on that book. OR, if we could go to TechNet, look up a test number and read all about the topics for that exam. I don't think Microsoft is being fair on exam objectives versus viable study materials. Searching TechNet for specific test information is like finding a needle in a hay stack!

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!I recently completed my 2012 MCSA using William Panek's MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 study guide, and was disappointed with it. It started out well, but by the 412 section, started leaving large gaps of information out. Regardless, it did provide lots of useful information and basic lab exercises.Due to my disappointment with the Panek 2012 guide, I decided to try this book out for my 2016 MCSA cert. This book is horrible. It provides many links to technet articles which you can find on your own. Information in the book is EXTREMELY sparse, with much of it basically just saying hey there is this thing out there, we wont tell you anything about it other than it exists, oh and here is a link that might explain it (you will have better luck finding your own technet links in many/most cases). Labs are almost non-existent, and those that exist are a total joke.I can say the Panek book would have been exponentially better without ever having seen it. If you need anything more than just to look at the changes between 2012 & 2016 (and it is crap for that), this book would only be good for starting fires with the paper it is made from. This book is Total garbage. It deserves a negative 5 star review. I will never again purchase another Microsoft study guide. This guide makes Panek's look like a dream come true.Side Note for anyone not aware: If you are using any study guide to pass your exam, you will probably fail (even if you can setup and configure every aspect of the environment in your sleep). They should however help you understand what you will be testing on, and get you familiar with the technology. After that, study up on the example exams (either pay for them or use one of the many free sites).

I thought the book was very mediocre. Getting this book you have to have an understanding of some of the technologies already, but it does a horrible job of at least summarizing or giving a quick refresher for the technology being discussed. For example, IPAM - it would have been nice to give some type of explanation about it, but it just jumps in and says, "this is how you do it."Would not recommend.

This book is an ok place to start to get an overview of the subject matter, but I don't think I could recommend it. Microsoft says that they test real world experience in these exams, but anyone who has tons of experience wouldn't need a book like this. So what's the point of publishing it?

I see that this book is getting 2 and 3 star reviews saying that it doesn't provide enough material. It is written based off of the categories Microsoft lists as the Skills Measured for the 70-743 certification. It is not in depth but does give a pretty good overview of the topics. This makes the book great for someone who is just looking for a refresher or something to get you started on studying for this cert. If you need more than this then you probably aren't ready to jump right into taking a certification test anyways. You should find a book that much more broadly covers Server 2016 and then come back to this book. Even then, expect to spend a lot of time on the forums, TechNet, YouTube, and hopefully working in your own home lab.In summary, thank goodness there is a book like this one that will just give an overview of the topics for this cert because one that covered it in depth would be thousands of pages long!

Book is okay. I got more value out of my practice tests from a 3rd party.

After reading through some of the content I expect it to be a good supplement to getting me prepared for the Server 2016 exam.

I have not received this yet, pls advise

Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism, by Sean Hannity

From Publishers Weekly

Conservative Fox Television news host and bestselling author Hannity sees behind the ills of the world one cause: evil. And so Hannity joins the "neocon" chorus, positing that totalitarian regimes, such as Hussein's in Iraq, Hitler's Germany and the former Soviet Union, serve as breeding grounds for evil, thus justifying President Bush's policy of pre-emptive action against countries that could threaten American interests. Despite "irrefutable evidence," Hannity writes, today's liberals inexplicably doubt that "absolute evil truly exists," and instead foolishly cling to the idea that the world's problems might arise from social, psychological and cultural differences or from economic inequality. Fans of Hannityâ€"Christian conservatives in particularâ€"will no doubt embrace this straightforward call to arms. Many readers, however, will find Hannity's "irrefutable" evidence to be anything but, and his selective use of history and circular logic raise far more questions than it settles. Two final chapters examine what Hannity considers to be the dangerous, partisan policies espoused by the current slate of Democratic presidential candidates. For our democracy to survive, Hannity argues, we must root out terrorists and defeat evil totalitarian regimes before they can harm usâ€"a theme that will no doubt play loudly this election season. This book was purchased for a family member.I've always liked what sean hannity has to say and not afraid to say it.

Great product. Quick delivery. Will buy again....5 star....thanks.

I just finished reading Deliver Us from Evil (I'm in school and did not have time to read it before spring break). I am pleased with the book overall, even though it has a few problems.Just so you know my bias, I have been a strong conservative for the last three or four years. I listen to Sean Hannity when I get a chance, which isn't often anymore.SYNOPSISIn chapters 2-4 of Deliver Us from Evil, Hannity does an excellent job of showcasing political evil in the world during the 20th century. He details nations' reactions to such incidents as Nazi Germany's aggression, the fall of the Shah the Ayatollah's rise to power in Iran, the buildup of the Soviet bloc, and Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait. He identifies who confronted evil (Churchill, FDR, Reagan, George H.W. Bush) and who appeased it (Neville Chamberlain, Carter).Next, in chapters 5-8, Hannity applies those lessons learned throughout the 20th century to the 1990s and the 21st century. He illustrates how the Clintons, during their presidency, opted for the Chamberlain-Carter path and allowed evil to persist, grow, and recruit followers. He mentions that the United Nations has followed the same path for a very long time. He also shows that President George W. Bush has confronted evil, much like Churchill and Reagan did, and has left the world safer as a result of standing up to al Qaeda and Saddam. Hannity recommends that we continue to elect leaders who will confront evil, not only because such confrontation works, but because it is morally right.Chapter 9 and the epilogue are essentially detailed lists. First, Hannity explains why none of the 2004 Democrat presidential candidates is suitable for strong defense (at the time of writing, no primaries had happened, so it was not known that John F. Kerry would be the nominee). Then, in the epilogue, Hannity lists rogue nations and terror organizations with whom we need to deal in the near future before they deal with us. This material is extremely relevant, especially in the wake of yesterday's horrific terror attacks in Madrid.STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSESI like the book, for two main reasons. First, while it won't win any converts from the far left, it will make decent people think about the need to oppose evil, including political and terrorist evil. Hannity states that Republicans are united in opposing evil, that Democrats are united in being on both sides of the issue, and that Republicans are correct on this particular issue. There is good and there is evil, not several shades of gray, and we should fight evil with force. There is a time for diplomacy but not at the risk of our security. This is Hannity's most important point, and he makes it brilliantly.Second, Hannity's book voices a grievance that I have had against the anti-war left for a while. The grievance is that it is unreasonable to think that Saddam did not have any weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Chapter 8, "Playing Politics at the Water's Edge," shows how the Democrats are pretending that there are no WMDs and using that non-fact to their political advantage. With everything we know about the materials and documents found after the war, as well as Saddam's expulsion of UN weapons inspectors years ago, no honest person can say that Saddam did not have WMDs. Yet the Democrats are saying just that en masse, as Hannity illustrates. If they cared about the nation and not just about political power, they would not say, "Why did we attack Iraq if there were no WMDs?" Instead, they would say, "Where in the world are the WMDs, and why haven't we found them yet?" This issue should scare Americans to death, but the Democrats twist it to oppose the President. I'm glad that Hannity is saying this, because President Bush hasn't had the presence of mind to push it.While I'm impressed with the book, I'm unimpressed by two features of the book. First, I feel that Hannity is too strong in condemning the Clintons for Saddam's atrocities and for September 11. I agree that the Clintons should have stood up to evil more when they were in power. But early in the book, Hannity talks about personal responsibility for evil choices, and he is inconsistent when he then blames the Clintons for things like September 11. The terrorists and the dictators are responsible for the attacks and the atrocities. I cannot blame the Clintons for those.Second, the literary style is unprofessional and amateurish in some ways. There are typographical errors (things spellcheck doesn't catch, like "an" instead of "at") and grammar problems, and while these don't make the content less important, they distract the reader. Also, the writing is more informal than I expected, the type I would expect if I were reading a really deep article in Sports Illustrated. A hardcover book is not a pop magazine or a radio show, and I expected more professionalism. An editor could have and should have caught things like this because they distract from the book's important content.CONCLUSIONThis is a fine book packed with good information on the evils of terrorism, despotism, and liberalism, and why they must be defeated. Hannity won't win many new friends, but he does fire up the base with his second book. I strongly recommend reading it if you have sincere doubts about the War on Terror.

I am really enjoying this book and highly recommend this to everyone. It's amusing, but sad, to see so many liberals so burned up about this book they feel the need to leave a bad rating without having read the book. You people have NO life! I wouldn't think of leaving a negative rating for any book, even for someone I didn't like, unless I read the book and thought it poorly written. This book was written by a highly intelligent man who loves his country. So why don't you unintelligent, haven't a clue about the facts (or at least want to hide the truth from the rest of the country), anti-American liberals go do something productive to fill your extra time instead of taking cheap shots on Hannity's book reviews?

Deliver Us From Evil is absolutely wonderful! It dares to tell the truth when so many media figures are afraid to. We are in a time of great decision and our safty and security is in the balance. Sean brings this out in clear and concise facts. Unlike the books of Franklin and Moore he doesn't state anything that isn't backed up by fact! READ THIS BOOK INSTEAD OF THE SMEAR MERCHANTS!!!

The short review: An awesome book!!! Buy it now, read it and prepare to have your eyes opened to the truth!!The long review: I actually READ this book - it is obvious that many people who have "reviewed" it did not! Sean lays out his case that the liberal left is politicizing the War on Terrorism in it's desperate attempt to regain power in a post-9/11 America. It is despicable!!! Evil does exist and while Sean is not asserting that liberals are evil, I assert that many are. Our sons and daughters are prosecuting this war on foreign soil, putting themselves in harm's way on a daily basis - many offering up the ultimate sacrifice - and instead of rallying around our wartime president, the liberal politicians are undermining him in every conceivable way. Did 9/11 teach us NOTHING?? Have we forgotten so quickly what evil was wrought on our very way of life on that beautiful sunny September morning?Sean backs up his assertions with documented evidence. The book is an easy read, a page turner, and an eye-opener!! I agree with Sean that God made sure that George W. Bush was in the right place and the right time in history - as surely as Churchhill, FDR and JFK.Thank you Sean for letting it like it is and choosing to fight this particular battle.

Great read, and a good recipe for getting America back from liberal progressives. Government can't do everything, eventually socialists start running out of other people's money. America's great experiment at self governance is rapidly coming to an end thanks to the likes of the liberal democrats and progressive Republicans. Time for a reset.

Like most of Hannity's stuff. This was no exception!

Props to this Author, he condenced a vast amount of the Blender manual into this book and added many examples. Well worth the price!

Unfortunately, this is largely the 2.79 reference manual. All screen shots are from 2.79, NOT 2.8. Examples: pie menus are on by default, no longer an add-in. Property tabs are vertical in the new UI, not horizontal. The online manual is the same.

Very informative! My go-to guide for using Blender
