This is Riley Edwards debut novel and I absolutely LOVED it!! So much that I have read it several times. I typically do not read the military genre but I am now a fan. Jasmin and Lincoln have the ultimate love story. Could you imagine not remembering 2 years of your life? How about not remembering your husband? Or even traumatic events that happened to you? I went through so many emotions with this book. At one point it made me cry and other times it made me smile. This book had everything that I look for in a book-- emotions, a complex and slightly complicated storyline, developed characters, turmoil, and a perfect ending.Love this quote from the book. " Sweet Jasmin wakeup baby,you're safe. I got you,it's ok now." I felt warm and safe. I never wanted to leave this place.
This storyline is overwhelmed by the swearing (f*** is used every other paragraph) and sex in unusual conditions. For instance after an argument, outside a house, during the day, when the President of the U.S. is inside the house and team members are outside patrolling? They have a serious situation they’re handling but they take time for sex? I just got annoyed, it seemed gratuitous, not real.Would have liked more suspense and a complex storyline. Even the characters were complaining about the vulgar language! Ha! Glad the book was on sale for $0.
The story didn't actually begin until around the 80% point. Long winded and aside from the sex, boring. Edwards really needs to learn how to use a grammar checker or hire an editor. Everything from miss-used words, sentence structure, and comma use to the point it's distracting. At 80% the story begins to take shape and you begin to understand why the characters are always so worked up in the beginning of the story. The whole story could have been told with half the word count and there is so much sex it becomes gratuitous. Never thought I'd say that!
Just finished reading Nightstalker - and I LOVED it! The characters are well developed and the story is filled with tension, intrigue, deceit, lust, secrets and lies in spades. I love a good HEA, but this one is filled with sacrifice and true belief and faith by that true love will save them! Well done - fast paced - steals your breath. Don't miss Red Team 1!!!AJ R
Jasmin is a security contractor. There was a mission 2 years ago that changed her life. The only problem is she don't remember it. Those that love her most want her to remember on her own. She keeps asking for them to help her but they won't budge.Lincoln is back to help Jasmin fill in the missing pieces of her life. This could be his toughest mission yet.This story is beautifully written. There is action, suspense, drama, friendship, and love all rolled into one amazing story. It has great cast of character's and secondary character's. Which they all play a vital role in the story. Jasmin is strong, sassy, independent women. Lincoln is true alpha bad boy with a heart of gold. I love both of these character's. There story is awesome and the ending was incredible. I am excited for the next book of this series.
Riley Edwards is my new favorite author in this arena. First, I don’t generally write reviews because they are so subjective. Everyone has a different desire when reading books, but after this book I am hooked. This was my first book that I got from her – and LOVED. I quickly bought all she had and have am now quite impatient now as I wait for her to write another - something that doesn't really happen with me.With Nightstalker I quickly fell hard for Zane and all the rest of the characters. It was such a welcome escape during a crazy time of my life – and now I’m just hooked. I've read some of the reviews where they talk about this book being unrealistic. Truthfully, as never been in the military or CIA, I don't know if that is the case, so I can't speak to that. What I can say is that I don't care. I'm looking for fun characters I can fall in love with and escape with.Riley, if you read this review - my only compliant so far is that it takes tooooooo long for the next one.
Powerful story full of emotional roller coasters, excitement and action. It is edgy and gritty with a fast pace. It had me holding my breath one minute and squirming the next. The plot is interesting, the characters easy to like. Although their are two other books following these characters in KW that actually take place towards the end of this one timewise this book could be read as a stand alone, they fit in at the end of the main part of this one before the extra bits. Fantastic read.
Nightstalker is a kickass read and I love Jasmine... I fell in love with the tough, quick-witted jasmine and the security team. This shows true commodity. To be the only girl with such a group of studs who respect her is amazing. They would all lay their life on the line for each other, which is exactly what it comes down to. Jasmine is going to learn some secrets from her past and how she reacts is going to make you wonder if this is how you would react. I would say this is a must read.
