A friend told me about this book and I was a little apprehensive to read it in fear that it would further harm my current relationship (or lack there of), just by looking at the chapter titles alone. My relationship is not “50/50†and I want it to be, we do not practice “100% transparency,†he knows I “cannot handle the truthâ€, I want to add value by “retractionâ€, and I have no clue how to “renegotiate the dealâ€. I didn’t want this book to tell me it was over before things ever got to be great.BUT...I found some hope in this book as there are a number of take-a-ways; such as: knowing exactly what you bring to the table, and highlight that. I realize now that my reactions are emotions based ALOT and that it would be beneficial to not show my pain in every situation. Checking the expectations we have of others is also crucial to the survival of our relationships - nothing is implied with men these days.I might be able to renegotiate my deal, we’ll see.I would recommend this book to others.

The book teaches you how to be honest with yourself, and others, so you can receive all that you want out of relationship. If by chance you are not getting what's wanted, you must learn to "renegotiate the deal." Although, the author states the book is primarily for women, men can also gain knowledge by reading this book. Creating safety for full disclosure and emotional intelligence are advantageous in all relationships. I appreciate the author spoke about real life experiences. Although, some of his teachings are subjective in nature, or even controversial to some, the book was informational. The author's personality was felt through his subtle humor and a hint of irony. If you are interested in receiving what you fully want out of your relationships, read this book! Perhaps you just want to have a discussion about a topic that is contentious and debatable. If that's the case, read this book! You will definitely take something away from your reading.
I was very intrigued by the title of the book "Optimal Happiness, Love ain't never been enough". As you read that you are going to immediately ask yourself what does he mean by "Love ain't never been enough"?. However, after reading that chapter you are going comprehend what The writer is conveying, which is very direct and to the point. ( This is where don't judge a book by it's cover comes into play LOL ). Read the entire Chapter and you will understand it more...... The writer was able to give us an inside view of what we should focus on in order to live up to our optimal happiness!. He brings us back to what is really important in a relationship, due to the fact that many of us get caught up with the fantasy of being with someone or just being married without really taking the time to think of what happiness and love truly means. At times the material in the book May seem a little harsh, however he picks our brain to think outside of the box and not just go with what we have been taught or are use to. Now I can ask myself " Am I living in my Optimal Happiness? what changes do I need to make as an individual in order to make that happen. I recommend this book to anyone that is seeking to have that special person in their life at some point. This book will help you understand and guide you in your next journey of finding a mate.
Optimal Happiness: Love Ain’t Never Been Enough was an amazing read. The book was an eye opener and kept my attention from cover to cover. I admire how the author provided real life personal examples throughout the book to paint a picture for the readers. After reading this book I have realized that there is so much work that goes into a relationship beneath the surface. Both parties have to be open and honest with eachother in order for things to work. As the title of the book states.. “Love ain’t NEVER been enough!!†I will definitely take a few principles from this book and apply them to my own personal life. This book exceeded my expectations and I look forward to reading more material from Mr. Greene.
Great read! This book is a journey of self reflection as it relates to dating. Each chapter is written beautifully & will capture your attention immediately! This book does an excellent job at rearranging a (my) mindset about old/outdated dating "rules" The suggestion that Optimal Happiness can be achieved by tweaking our own actions & views is simply BRILLIANT! I encourage single women/men, married women/men, coupled & committed folks to get a copy!! Get ready for the experience & the conversation that follows!
