Most will not like this book because they will not understand it. If you enjoy more esoteric spiritual books, then this might interest you. It addresses how to deal with glamour. It seems to be saying, as the Gita says, be unattached to the fruits of your actions. Work hard and give the results to God, Krishna, the universe etc. It addresses esoteric references to meditation techniques that most will not understand without maybe doing more advanced meditation techniques such as Kriya yoga, or other advanced yogi mediations.
Bailey writes with one life in the present and other lives trailing. She analyzes the human need to glamorize one's self and the past, the environment--everything with which the person has had contact. If you are wanting to detach from glamour and its spiritual blindness, this book is for you. May require repeated reading to grasp the deeper, esoteric implications and principles, but worth while nevertheless.
If everyone studied this book we would be much more humble and compassionate with each other.
its pretty deep stuff. Im all into the theosophy thing so Im more or less used to this sort of thing. If your not I would still recommend the book as it will help to expand your horizons. As with all things especially (esoteric) books take from it what you will. This guy, "the tibetian" has a lot to offer though.
This is a classic esoteric book. Well worth reading. You have to be interested in what is going on behind the material world. Not superficial reading.
I have just got the book for the 2nd time. its a very interesting book for anyone who is interested in perceving the world we live in with different eyes, mind, Heart.It's not an easy book to read or also one can't read it in two weeks or so. Its a book that takes a lot of time to read and understand.RecomendXJ
This book, while quite old, is invaluable in understanding the problem of glamour. A must for any esoteric collection! The meditation contained at the end is quite long, but a great exercise in discipline.
Maybe this book deserves 5 stars...I don't know.I simply couldn't get across the book..so many terms used subjectively.Also it focusses on groups, astral planes, auras, meditation, the occult.And I am a little suprised by the multitude of the use of the word "men" instead of "man" in general.Maybe great...but even as a serious spiritual reader this is simple too much assuming stuff for me.I did find 1 great quote in the first 25 pages: "Glamour is the travesty of reality".I would much more recommend any David R Hawkins comments about Essence versus perception.Altough Hawkins recommends this book, I think there are clearer and more down to earth ones.
