I actually live in this area and was looking for a guide book to Santa Barbara and stumbled upon this awesome resource. I thought I knew all the things to do in Santa Barbara with the family until I got this guide. It is perfect to keep handy on those days when you are looking for something new and spontaneous. We love the Santa Barbara Zoo, Museum of Natural History and Ty Warner Sea Center which is all here, but it lists lots of other things also that I would never think of... It is worth every penny.
Sometimes visiting a new town, no matter how small, can be a bit overwhelming and exhausting when trying to find cool stuff to do that the whole family will enjoy. I cannot express enough how grateful I am that I bought this fabulous book, "Exploring Santa Barbara with Kids", when my family visited Santa Barbara this summer!! It made my job as the "cruise director" not only easy, but so much fun!! And, EVERYONE loved the unique and cool ideas I found in the book...from the beaches & shops to the restaurants & sites!! I hope she writes a book like this for every town we visit!!! Thanks so much!!
Having lived in SB for 5 years as a college student, I thought I knew every nook of entertainment in town. I was wrong! Mrs. Brownell has done such a marvelous job harnessing all aspects of kid oriented fun in SB in her new book. SB is obviously a fantastic town to enjoy with kids because of the beach, but get this book and enjoy all sorts of other great hidden and unique opportunities you may not have known about. Thank you for creating such a useful resource!
This guidebook for travel to Santa Barbara is fabulous. We used it this summer and it was the perfect companion for family travel in Santa Barbara. This Santa Barbara travel book listed the best beaches in Santa Barbara, all the things to do for kids in Santa Barbara, the best restaurants in Santa Barbara for families, etc... and it even had suggested day trips from Santa Barbara to other nearby areas like Ventura, San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles. Great buy!
