Having been to Alaska four times, I love reading books set in Alaska. This one did not disappoint me. Very exciting and filled with true love, something that is rare in this age.
This trilogy - from beginning to end was delightful! It creates a personal relationship with God that is real. Surprises occur from beginning to end. It is both delightful and disappointing (for those of us who are optimists - nor realists!) The characters are so identifiable - they come to life off the page and make you live with them. While I did not enjoy the main character and the times where she delivered selfish daredevil antics, I did truly enjoy all the characters - especially the grace and times where they relied on God. This is definitely a great read!
THIS SERIES IS AMAZING....YOU MUST REACH EACH BOOK. I READ EACH BOOK WITH MUCH INTEREST. ITS A BOOK YOU WILL READ AND CATCH YOURSELF HOLDING YOUR BREATH. THIS BOOK CAME TO ME IN PERFECT CONDITION AND QUICKLY. WHEN AN AUTHOR CAN MAKE ME FEEL MANY EMOTIONS THEY ARE A TRUE ARTHIST AND LISA TAWN BERGERN IS EXACTLY THAT.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tales of these peoples lives. Sweet, mysterious and with godliness in it. Leaves one feeling good about life

Although this book has the power of story behind it and well created characters, a few things nagged at me. For instance, those of you who have read the first two books before Midnight Sun will remember how tired you were of Kaatje Janssen running after her philandering husband. Well, she does it again and her reasons range from wanting to know if he is really dead to allowing God to give her a second chance with him.The second pitfall for me was that the other Norwegians' lives did not excite me as before. In The Sea Captain's Bride I was more into Elsa and Peder's stories, while now I find myself trying to read really quickly pass their story and onto to Kaatje's suddenly unpredictable life.The story itself was captivating and held my interest as all of Tawn's other books have.
I loved the entire series. I appreciate a wonderful story. Lisa Tawn Bergren gets and hold your attention from the first page. I read Captain's Bride first and loved it! I was anxious to get to Deep Harbor because I love her style writing. Her books are just right in length and keep you wanting to know more about the lives of her characters. I just finished Midnight Sun. Loved them all!I wish she would add another in that series. She is a wonderful writer and proves that books can offer a wonderful story without the ugly words and implications of most writers. I am reading Breath at the moment and will read Sing as soon as I finish Breath. I get so engrossed in her books that I do not want them to end. Lynne Kerling
I read the whole series of the Nothern lights. I really enjoyed the series. Even thought it focused on more then one person it was very easy to follow what everyone was doing. Some you loved some you were mad at and others you just wanted to slap at times!! I felt emotional involved which made it a really good story. This was the first series i have read from Lisa Bergren and i plan on reading more of her books. I would recommed this book.
